Privacy Policy — Adhan Bro

Adhan Bro ("we", "our", or "the app") is built with privacy as a default. This policy explains what data the app accesses, why it accesses it, and what we do with it. The short version: Adhan Bro does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data with any third party. Everything stays on your device.

1. Information We Access

The app accesses the following data only on your device in order to function:

1.1 Location

Why: to calculate accurate prayer times for your area and the qibla direction toward Makkah.
How: with your permission via iOS's When In Use location authorization. You can also manually search for and select a city instead, in which case GPS is not used.
Where it goes: stays on your device. Your coordinates are used in on-device calculations only and are never transmitted to us or any third party.
City search: when you type a city name, the search query is sent to Apple Maps' geocoding service to translate the name into coordinates. We do not run our own server. See Apple's privacy practices at apple.com/legal/privacy.

1.2 Notifications

Why: to alert you at prayer times (the adhan) and optionally at a chosen lead time before each prayer.
How: scheduled as iOS local notifications with your permission. They are scheduled and fired entirely on your device.
Where it goes: nowhere. We do not send push notifications from a server.

1.3 Preferences and Computed Schedule

The app stores your settings (calculation method, madhab, sound choice, lead time, manually selected city) in iOS UserDefaults on your device.
The next ~12 prayer times are stored in a shared App Group container so the home-screen and lock-screen widgets can read them.
This data never leaves your device.

1.4 Compass / Magnetometer

Why: to render the qibla compass on the Qibla screen.
How: read live from the device sensors when you view the qibla screen.
Where it goes: displayed on screen only. Not stored, not transmitted.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

To be unambiguous, the app does not:

Collect any personally identifying information (name, email, phone, IDFA, advertising ID, IP address, device ID, etc.).
Track you across apps or websites.
Use any analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, or diagnostic SDKs.
Use any advertising networks or marketing pixels.
Send your location, search queries, prayer times, or settings to our servers — we do not operate any backend servers for this app.
Create user accounts or require sign-in.
Sell, rent, or share data with third parties for any purpose.

The app's name "Adhan Bro - No Ads" reflects this commitment.

3. Third-Party Services

The app does not integrate any third-party SDKs (no Firebase, no Google Analytics, no Meta SDK, no Crashlytics, no advertising networks).

The only external service touched by the app is Apple Maps' geocoding API, used solely when you type a city name into the search field, to convert that text into geographic coordinates. This API is provided by Apple, not by us, and is governed by Apple's privacy practices.

4. Data Storage and Security

All preferences and schedule data are stored locally on your device using Apple's standard iOS storage mechanisms (UserDefaults and the app's sandboxed App Group container).
Because no data is transmitted from the app, there is no data in transit and no remote storage to compromise.
Data is automatically removed from your device when you uninstall the app, except for routine iOS backups (iCloud, encrypted device backups) made by you, which are governed by Apple's privacy practices.

5. Children's Privacy

Adhan Bro is suitable for all ages. The app does not collect data from anyone, including children under 13. The app is not directed at children specifically and contains no behavioral advertising or tracking.

6. Your Choices and Controls

Location: You can revoke location permission any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Adhan Bro. The app will fall back to a manually selected city.
Notifications: You can toggle adhan reminders and the pre-prayer reminder inside the app's Settings tab, or revoke notification permission entirely in iOS Settings → Notifications → Adhan Bro.
Manual city: You can clear a manually selected city via Settings → Location → Use current location.
Delete data: Uninstall the app to remove every byte of locally stored data.

7. International Use

The app works worldwide and does not transfer data internationally because it does not transfer data anywhere. City search queries entered by you are processed by Apple's servers under Apple's privacy practices.

8. Changes to This Policy

If the app's data handling ever changes (for example, if a future version adds an opt-in feature that involves a server), this policy will be updated and the "Last updated" date at the top will change. Substantive changes will be highlighted in the app's release notes on the App Store.
